I am particularly interested in partnership and collaborative working between public, voluntary, and community sector organizations and issues of citizen engagement and empowerment. Some recent examples of project work include 'Councils and the Recession', investigating what different councils were doing to deal with the impact of recession on an area on behalf of the Audit Commission; 'LinkAge Pilots', evaluating the success of projects designed to improve access to services for people aged fifty and over on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions; 'Governance and Citizens', investigating board structures, governance, and public participation. These examples of project work were undertaken whilst I was a Research Fellow at the Institute of Local Government Studies, at the University of Birmingham.
